Submitted by Mrs Ferrier on

Well done on all your hard work this week, Year 5. We have been so impressed with the home learning you have shared and it was lovely to see so many of you at our Zoom meeting this morning too.

Please continue to upload photos of your finished Advent calendars, we will still share these in school.

We are looking forward to seeing you all next week. Don’t forget to wear your smart school uniform for the school photographer on Monday!

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Ferrier, Mrs Davis and Mr Masingiri

helloHello Year 5! We hope you are all keeping well. It has been great to see how hard you have been working at home already!  Thank you for uploading your homework, as well as such wonderful pieces of work - we have already received some super adverts for Roman recruits and some brilliant Elton John glasses.

Hello Year 5!

We hope that all of you are safe and well – all three of us feel fine and hope that you all do too.

Incredible Reading!

Submitted by Mrs Ferrier on

Year 5 have really taken off with their reading this half term and their enthusiasm for reading for pleasure is certainly evident. Many children are making fantastic progress towards their personal reading targets and some have already hit theirs, which is brilliant. Collectively, Year 5 have read 15,307,308 words since September - a great achievement! Congratulations to our two word millionaires too! Thank you for supporting your child's daily reading at home - it really does have an impact across all areas of their learning.

Homework

Submitted by Mrs Davis on

As next week is half term, we will not be setting any Maths or Literacy homework this week.  Do keep up with your daily reading though so you can keep that word count climbing.

Enjoy your half term holiday - you've earned it!

Permission to watch DVDs

Submitted by Mrs Ferrier on

As an end of term treat for Year 5, for settling back in to school so well and adapting to all the new routines, we are planning to watch the ‘Early Man’ DVD. This ties in well with the topic work we have been doing on the Stone Age.  Later in the term, we also plan to watch the Horrible Histories film ‘The Rotten Romans’ to complement our Romans topic. Both the DVDs are rated PG, therefore we need to seek your permission to show them. We will assume you do give permission for your child to watch the DVDs unless you contact us to say otherwise.
