Wednesday Big Maths 5M Four digit target

Today's fun maths challenge is a place value game (ideally for 2 players**)!

Each player has two sets of 0-9 digits and must place them all in the boxes to create 5 x 4 digit numbers that are as close to the target as possible.  Whoever is closest to each target gets a point for that box so you need to consider your placement of each digit carefully.

Instructions are attached.

Good luck and have fun!

**If you are unable to play against a family member you could play both sides and see which side wins.

Week 3: Wednesday Big Maths with Mrs Drummond-Davies (Ferrier/Davis)

We are revising our skills in multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 this week through Tarsia puzzles.  Please print as many as you wish and keep each puzzle separate when you cut them out.  Once you have found all of the matching calculations and solutions, the puzzle shape can be glued into your books. The answers are included too so no peeking!

Tuesday 19 January Mrs Davis Maths TO x TO

Continue to practise multiplying TO x TO with the calculations on the attached sheet.  As explained before, you don't need to do every single one!  Work for about 20 minutes on them and check regularly that you have the correct answers - the answers are on the second sheet in the file.  Think about where you want to start and, as you would in class, if you want to, start at the Starting Place to do 1 or 2 then move on to Feeling Happy when you are more confident if you want.

Monday 18 January Mrs Davis Maths TO x TO

Practise multiplying by TO x TO with the calculations on the attached sheet.  As explained in the lesson, you don't need to do every single one!

Friday 5F Maths Set - Multiplying by Multiples of 10

Today's maths work is further practice of multiplying by 10.

Please make sure you do not just write the answers on the sheet - you must show clear workings out for each calculation so we know you have understood the method.

If you need to use a multiplication square to help you, that is fine.

Please mark your own work before uploading your photos so we can see how well you have done!
