Week 6: Wednesday Reading Comprehension

Today we shared an interesting article from a website following our work on the inspirational William Kamkwamba last week.  Your retrieval and vocabulary answers have been written so well this term, so we are now focusing on how to answer those more lengthy explain and summarise questions.  Please use the sentence starters for your answers to these.

Week 6: Wednesday Big Maths with Mrs Drummond-Davies (Ferrier/Davis)

For this week's Big Maths we are problem solving at the sweet shop.  You might like to make paper versions of the sweets in the question to help you to work out the answers. Alternatively, you could use different coloured counters, Lego bricks or building blocks as the different types of sweets. Remember that we are looking for ALL of the combinations and therefore need to find a systematic way of recording these.

Challenge 1: Can you add another question for someone at home to try?

Week 6: Tuesday 9 February Maths (Mrs Davis / Mrs Ferrier set)

Complete the cube and square numbers chart then use the answers to this to colour in the picture on the second sheet (if you don't have a printer then just complete the Cube and Square Numbers chart in your maths book).  If you need a refresher on what cube numbers are, this video may help: https://corbettmathsprimary.com/2018/07/15/cube-numbers-video/
