Wonder VIPERS Reading Comprehension/Task (Friday 15th January)

WonderHere are Chapters 4 and 5 of Wonder - Christopher's House and Driving.

The VIPERS comprehension questions and task are in the link. The answers for the VIPERS questions are also included for you to mark your own work.

Thursday 5F Maths Set - Multiplying by Multiples of 10

Today's maths is practising multiplication by multiples of 10, as demonstrated in the Zoom session.

Please show all of your workings out. If you need to use a multiplication square to help you with your tables, that is fine. We are more interested in you mastering the method at the moment.

However, please keep practising your tables as we will be using them a lot over this half term, so the quicker you can recall them, the better!

Wonder VIPERS Reading Comprehension/Task (Thursday 14th January)

WonderHere is Chapter 3 of Wonder - How I Came to Life.

The VIPERS comprehension questions and task are in the link. Remember to refer back to the text if you need to and make sure you give a reason for any explanations or predictions you are asked to make.

Wednesday 5M Maths set Investigation

Today's maths is a problem solving investigation.  You will need to apply your multiplication skills to work out the solution.  Read the clues carefully to help you work logically.

We will look at the solution tomorrow together.

I have also included an extension challenge for those who finish quickly, or who are keen for more!

NB. Please don't spend hours and hours on this - 20 minute time cap!

Week 2: Wednesday Big Maths with Mrs Drummond-Davies (Ferrier/Davis)

Here is the work for today's big Maths with Mrs Drummond-Davies.  Have a go at revising your addition column method with larger numbers before using your reasoning skills to work out the calculations. There are 3 differentiated tasks for you to choose from.  Please do as many as you wish. You can also practice your skills on BBC bitesize and watch some clips if those missing numbers are too spicy to handle! https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zy2mn39/articles/z3kmrwx
