After the Christmas break, the children will be creating space scenes using a technique called applique, where small pieces of fabric are sewn on to a larger piece of felt.
Over the holidays it would be great if they can practise tying simple knots - in wool, string, shoelaces or cotton, whatever you have to hand!
If you have any needles, it would be even better if they could also practise threading a needle.
Not only will this encourage their independence in lessons, it means we can quickly progress on to the more advanced sewing skills needed to complete their work.
In light of the current Covid safety precautions, this independence is even more important as we will not be handling any cotton that may have been licked to aid them threading their needles!
Thank you for your support.
